IBM to name infrastructure services business 'Kyndryl' after spinoff
- api 6y agoThat's the kind of awful name that surely cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in consultant fees.
- bediger4000 6y agoYes. Reminiscent of "benadryl", but does not remind one of a Harry Potter spell as drug trade names like "chantix", "lipitor" or "cialis" do. Extremely mediocre.
- beckyb 6y agoAsk your doctor if Kyndryl is right for you.
- pram 6y agoThe company said “kyn” alludes to the word kinship, while “dryl” comes from “tendril,” alluding to new growth. Together, the name brings “to mind new growth and the idea that–together with customers and partners–the business is always working toward advancing human progress,” Schroeter said. lol
- 0xFF69B4 6y agoThis is hilarious, Kinedryl is a brand of medicine for motion sickness (Kinetosis) in Eastern Europe.
- reflect 6y agoNaming new businesses is hard but come on- this type of horrible name should actually create a stock sell off.
- ksaj 6y agoTo my eyes and ears, the name makes me think of cough medicine. So it's not a name I would choose for an infrastructure services brand either.
- mormegil 6y agoNear miss. https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinedryl https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinedryl is an antiemetic (preventing motion sickness) based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moxastine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moxastine
- ksaj 6y agoThat's even better. It was Benadryl that I was thinking of.
