- ChrisGranger 5y agoI'm pretty sure that is the case here. I have a vague recollection of video footage from the '90s of a similar diamond-shaped UFO being explained away as a shape made by the optics of the video camera distorting a bright, not-quite-focused light [possibly Venus].
- joshschreuder 5y agoGood call, it’s most likely bokeh. See https://youtu.be/g256IPFoqMg https://youtu.be/g256IPFoqMg Mick West incidentally does a number of quite good videos on UFO footage and camera phenomena.
- matt-attack 5y agoYep the bokeh takes the shape of the aperture blades. Typically they look like hexagons but I could see in this case of some weird military night vision it being triangles.
- vlti 5y agoHere's an example of a lens with a triangle shaped aperture: https://vintagelensesforvideo.tumblr.com/post/126045282053/the-very-unusual-triangular-aperture-on-my-carl https://vintagelensesforvideo.tumblr.com/post/126045282053/t...
