Are there performance issues for this with BTRFS as well or just ZFS?
- atmosx 6y agoI don't know about BTRFS but ZFS is expensive in terms of RAM and since ram is scarce on RPis, I would expect ZFS to underperform under RPis.
- tpxl 6y agoRPi 4 goes up to 8G RAM which is more than enough.
- nuker 6y agoI found for 5x 10TB disks TrueNAS needs more than 8GB.
- magicalhippo 6y agoTrueNAS eats a lot of memory for itself though. Just the web frontend thing eats 3GB on my box, and "services" eats about 12-16GB total (most of which I have no idea where is going). Since ZFS uses memory for caching, it will perform much better with more memory, but it should work[1] with less.
