Socialists are mean because they want to steal other people's property (and often also murder them). The "afford a basic human need" thing is just a smoke screen, as there is enough space to live in Germany. And if you want them to afford the basic human need to live in central Berlin, then the question again becomes, who will be entitled to do so? Socialists never answer that. Since it will not be the people who actually pay for it (meaning they somehow earned money, hopefully by providing something useful to other people), it will be the people who are elected to the socialist parties and their cronies. I don't see why "being a political activist" should entitle you to a better home than doing actual productive work, earning money and paying for your home. That's just my feeling of justice and entitlement. And the buck really stops when socialists start using hate speech ("parasitic landlords") for their agenda. You live in Berlin, you know how it all turned out a couple of decades ago.
