Deep-learning enables real-time 3D holograms on a smartphone
- aerodog 6y agoI saw the whole video, but at the end I didn't see anything on a smartphone.
- amelius 6y agoIt is still in research phase. I watched the video too, and I wonder why they didn't show the screen from multiple view-angles so you get a feel of the 3d effect.
- handol 6y agoIt's a bench top display projecting directly into the camera. Similar to the one presented below, which provides a bit more context about how the display works. https://light.princeton.edu/publication/hil-holography/ https://light.princeton.edu/publication/hil-holography/
- holoduke 6y agoI tried to understand it. But I don't. Is this able to generate 3d images from 2d and automatically projecting it based on the line bounce angle of your eye and screen?
- handol 6y agoPleasantly surprised to see this is actually about holograms, and not a volumetric display misusing the term.
- villgax 6y agoKind of pointless unless you have an actual holographic device. Better thing is a NERFie with eye-trackers
- handol 6y agoBut, they have an actual holographic device.
