It is requiring giving Oracle credit card, right?
Because I heard horror stories about Oracle suddenly discovering that you did something that qualifies for extra-special-charge.
And I am not a major corporation that can easily pay major bill to another corporation.
("requires credit card" part is understandable to me, but I see no reason to trust Oracle given what I know about their approach)
- nojito 6y agoCredit card information is standard for fraud prevention. It’s impossible to breakout of the free tier and get charged for something.
- firstSpeaker 6y agoWhat are you basing this claim on? The reason I am not using any cloud trial that requires credit card is the chance of them driving me to bankruptcy.
- nojito 6y agoBased on me using Oracle Free Tier since it was released. It is impossible to get charged for your use of the free services.
- matkoniecz 6y agoI explicitly noted that I see why credit card are required, just that I am considering Oracle to be malicious and likely to be fraudulent. > It’s impossible to breakout of the free tier and get charged for something. Impossible in which sense? If they got my credit card info they can charge - and possibly justify it by convoluted rules. And "Oracle promised something" is sadly not very credible.
- nojito 6y agoThey can't that's where your logic breaks down.
- HelloNurse 6y agoMany years ago, Oracle bothered me by phone and email with the bills of a quasi-homonym in another continent, and I only had a developer account. So you don't even need to share billing details to have problems.
