What OS would they run? Linux?
I wonder if Windows will ever run on ARM/RISC?
- detaro 6y agoWindows already runs on ARM.
- brokenmachine 6y agoOh wow, I didn't know that.
- detaro 6y agoThe groundwork was done for embedded systems, but they added the desktop features and even make a few laptops with it now. But those are generally not very well-regarded, since the x86 emulation is slow and there is basically no native software.
- sitkack 6y agoWindows has run on non-x86 processors from at least the 90s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT#Supported_platforms https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT#Supported_platforms
- brokenmachine 6y agoOh, well that's not so good if it's just emulated x86.
