Preseeding is out – the new Ubuntu Server unattended installer in 20.04 LTS
- photoGrant 6y agoCurrently requires 3GB Minimum to run the 'INSTALLER' and not the OS it installs... Surely this is backwards and wrong?
- louwrentius 6y agoNo, it is true!
- jbirer 6y agoThis was one of the things that made me switch over to Debian. Back then I could download a 50MB mini.iso, then get on my installation. Now I have to download some huge file and use an installer that does not give me much control, also has bad documentation.
- louwrentius 6y agoI can imagine, I was also exploring Debian 10 again for this reason.
- Saris 6y agoHow on earth does an installer need 3GB of RAM and a 1.1GB ISO image to boot from?
- louwrentius 6y agoIt seems to download the ISO in memory and then extract it on a RAM disk.
