Mac and Linux antialiasing are light years ahead of Windows, unless you are using 20 year old 100 DPI or lower monitors. Now that 4K is standard on laptops, and 5k on desktops, Cleartype is an artifact of antiquity.
- mcovalt 6y agoIs 5K standard on desktops? Where can I get a ~200 DPI 5K monitor for less than $1,299.95?
- iggldiggl 6y agoFirefox user data shows 4K at roughly 2 % and "other" resolutions (only part of which will be high DPI) at slightly less than 7 %.
- dragonwriter 6y ago> Now that 4K is standard on laptops, and 5k on desktops, Neither of those are “standard”, they are both high end. On laptops FHD is still dominant. Desktop displays are more diverse, with beyond-FHD being more common than on laptops but split between 1080p-but-ultrawide, 1440p, 4K, and the rarer 5K+.
