So now I am regretting not waiting for that one and getting 3970x. 8 memory channels make a huge difference for me to the extent that 3970x at 4Ghz is barely faster than 32core Epyc at 2.6 GHz. I never thought the bandwidth with 4 channels could be a limitation for my CPU heavy (or so I thought) workloads but AMD managed to deliver so many fast cores that it actually started becoming a bottleneck. Now I want to upgrade already. Well done AMD!
