I have a 3600X, water cooled so it runs at top speed reliably, 64GB RAM, and a gen 4 PCIe SSD. Photoshop takes a solid 30+ seconds to launch, and another 30+ seconds to load even a few dozen KB JPEG. Feels like an app from 1988.

- tauntz 6y agoAnother anecdote: 2018 MBP i9 (8950HK) and 32GB RAM. warm-start (that is, launching after having previously killed the process but stuff's probably in a cache somewhere) Photoshop: 4s GIMP: 3s
- kyriakos 6y agoSomething is wrong with your setup. I have the same cpu with 32gb ram and ssd and everything Inc photoshop is fast
