Dude, I am like you. 44yo, working at a unicorn, most devs are younger than me, but my salary is higher. I had a good chat with the boss who is a good old pal, and we figured that I am a bad fit for ivory tower kind of work and that I have to go to professional services to feel happier.
- ndiscussion 6y agoAny thoughts on what "going to professional services" will look like for you? I'm highly motivated by customer engagement and direct influence.
- burned_out 6y agoWhat do you mean by professional services?
- sam_lowry_ 6y agoBeing close to clients and money flows. I spent a year writing vaporware for imaginary use case, younger generation takes this as an opportunity to build up skills, but I can not stand it any longuer.
