Jesus Christ. Even Capitalism's biggest cheerleaders don't pretend that anyone is entitled to the wealth they create through their labour; most of them cheerfully acknowledge that the boss takes a cut of that wealth and that's how the whole thing works.
I mean, the back and forth arguments about the precise definitions of Capitalism and Socialism go round and round, but there are a few core precepts that seem to be pretty well agreed.
- shrimp_emoji 6y agoYep. But, without the boss providing the capital with which labor can provide that wealth, there isn't much wealth to begin with, which makes that a dubious critique of capitalism, when there are way better ones (or at least ones of unsocialized, "Après moi, le déluge", American capitalism).
- necovek 6y agoFrom my reading, GP comment was not critiquing capitalism, but the statement about where wealth resulting from the labour ends up. And you start off with agreeing to it, so it's even more perplexing why do you see it as a critique?
