Post in other languages are usually ignored or flagged, unless they are very good and there is no equivalent information in English. (Who is Jaime Poniachik?) Consider posting in your blog the Spanish and the English version, and submitting here the English version. It may get more traction.
- chclau 6y agoThanks, I might, eventually. J. Poniachik, BTW, was a mathematician from Uruguay, very active in the field of Recreational Math, having published quite a few magazines and books about this during his life, and also created several puzzles and games that are know worldwide, for example, this one - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_(puzzle) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_(puzzle) About him: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaime_Poniachik https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaime_Poniachik (also in Spanish - I don't think there is an entry for him in English)
- gus_massa 6y ago> Thanks, I might, eventually. It's very boring to revisit the topics and translate them after a few years/months/weeks. Just write them now unless you are getting so much many traffic in Spanish that your server is on fire. If the post is interesting, some amount of bad translation is tolerated in HN.
