I found some revelation about how this happens on a climate change forum. The very same people who accept climate change is real will argue that new Covid-19 strains are "fake science". I do not understand they will accept one and not the other.

- netizen-9748 6y agoFrankly, I have seen 0 reporting on how different any of these 'strains' actually are. Is it a single point mutation? Multiple? Is the primary structure of the spike protein effected? How about tertiary? None of these thongs are ever mentioned, which is what matters if we want to differentiate between the behaviors of proteins. All of the media coverage I've seen just looks like baseless scare mongering.
