Tesla Model Y Achieves 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from NHTSA
- grecy 6y agoThat means every Tesla made has been rated 5 stars in every category. Nice work.
- nradov 6y agoMost mainstream passenger vehicles now have a 5 star rating. It has ceased to be a meaningful differentiator.
- ricardobeat 6y agoIt's not a competition, that's actually great! In a perfect world every car would meet 5 star requirements in every category. Tesla is just doing it first, I believe there is no other manufacturer with a flawless record.
- nradov 6y agoThere are other manufacturers with flawless records. The data is right there on the NHTSA web site. Tesla is nothing special.
- grecy 6y agoWhich other brand has every vehicle they've ever made rated 5 stars in every single category?
- ranguna 6y agoYou can't compare every vehicle because most other car companies are really old and have lots of vehicles. Tesla is relatively new and has a tiny number of cars.
- grecy 6y agoTesla has the S, X, 3 and Y. Which other car company has their most recent 4 vehicles all have a 5 star crash rating in every category?
- ricardobeat 6y agoThat's exactly the point. Being the first company to achieve that is certainly newsworthy.
- hn_user82179 6y agoSurprisingly, many don't. The 2020 Nissan Rogue and the Kia Seltos for example both only got 4 (I'll admit I don't know how bad that is compared to 5 stars) so the NHTSA rating still acts as a differentiator to me at least.
