Extremists move to secret online channels to plan for Inauguration Day in D.C
- koolk3ychain 6y agoYou know... like one of the most commonly used encrypted chat apps currently available? Alright... I'm still waiting for headlines analogous to "Is New Surge of Signal Users Privacy Focused or Parler Focused" or "Is Your Friend Adding You On Signal Because They Just Left Parler?"
- LinuxBender 6y agoNot to mention Telegram does not have the greatest security history [1] I don't use either of these, but I might have gone with Signal [2] given the lack of known breaches. - koolk3ychain 6y agoWhat non-technical "security enthusiasts" will never understand or grasp is that no system is really ever "secure". It's only secure as long as you're not aware of exploits - and given how complex these systems are (not counting the software they're deployed on) you'll never even have a 95% guarantee. The real ringer is that as long as someone has an IOS or Android exploit that lets you listen to they keyboard or IO inputs, the security of what you're typing into doesn't matter one bit ;)
- meekmockmook 6y agoI am concerned this is being used as a pretext to ban encryption or push for backdoors.
- admiralspoo 6y agoThe incoming regime will push for it, no doubt.
