My take for a long time has been that the government doesn't know much more than we do, and that that is the cover-up. They don't want to admit that strange possibly powered objects (but also possibly not) are being detected and witnessed in the sky that they can't identify, track, or engage. It means that either the government does not control our skies or that they're detecting a bunch of illusions and false positives and their equipment is wonky.
They'd much rather people believe conspiracy theories about the government having secret alien crash wreckage, etc., because that makes the government look like they're in full control of everything.
- jjeaff 6y agoI don't think it's so much about "the government" having an ego, so much as them not wanting foreign powers to know how much or how little they know about foreign test flight programs or about not wanting to reveal our own test flight programs to foreign powers. That's why you never confirm nor deny anything. You don't want you enemies to know what you know or what you don't know.
- petre 6y ago> They'd much rather people believe conspiracy theories The problem is when a rival state actor launches a conspiracy theory and delusional people take down 5G or other critical infra with bombs. The Pentagon and spy agencies should totally have a public position in the matter.
- api 6y agoThe speculation that UFOs are alien craft is more rational and plausible than most 5G conspiracies or Qanon crap TBH...
