Does anyone know if SCMP's coverage has become more pro-China after the recent 'National Security Laws' that were enacted in Hong Kong?
Pieces like this are especially interesting when viewed through a Chinese lens.
- yorwba 6y agoThe article was actually authored by Agence France-Presse, SCMP is just licensing their content. You can get the exact same text from elsewhere, e.g. https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20201213-workers-riot-at-india-iphone-factory-over-exploitation-claims https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20201213-workers-riot-... So you might want to ask yourself whether AFP's coverage has become more pro-China after the recent 'National Security Laws' that were enacted in Hong Kong.
- mortenjorck 6y agoThe decision of which wire service stories to run is an editorial choice, too.
- closetnerd 6y agoThis is a widely reported piece. Not sure why an SCMP link is posted. If you're concerned - you should check other sources. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-55296433 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-55296433
- scruffyherder 6y agoIt’s been pro ccp since the buyout of the news paper
- Scoundreller 6y agoCrap, just learned Alibaba bought them out in '15. They have some good overseas editors that cover local topics that local media just doesn't cover well.
