Super cubes: inside the surprisingly big business of packaged ice
- Scoundreller 6y agoI like this style of freezer ice cube tray: silicone and big cubes. None of that snapping and cracking. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Extra-Large-Ice-Cube-Tray-Big-Giant-Mould-Silicone-Square-Huge-Cubes-Mold-Molds/184362476711 https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Extra-Large-Ice-Cube-Tray-Big-Giant-... Before a camping trip, I’ll freeze whatever I can, especially any carried water. Possible freeze a small box-bottle of Pinot Grigio and it’s good to drink in a day or two. Oddly, packaged ice in Canada is usually shards of 2cm thick ice. I think they make big blocks and smash them up. Not like the UK. I think I’ve only seen the cylinder cubes in the article at Starbucks.
- rahimnathwani 6y agoI have a similar ice tray, but the cubes are too wide to fit into any of my flasks.
- TMWNN 6y agoI bought a similar but smaller tray: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YOJRFKQ/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YOJRFKQ/
