- bra-ket 6y agoso true, repeating false accusations against Trump for 4 years ( of 'racism' and other made-up evils) worked marvels for the Dems.
- sixothree 6y agoHe literally posted a video of people yelling "white power".
- bra-ket 6y agonope. He said "there are very fine people on both sides" in regards to protectors of Robert E Lee statue on one side, and BLM protestors who wanted to deface that statue, on the other. The next day when asked to clarify, he explicitly condemned white supremacists. There are people who don't want Confederates statues to be defaced, and they have nothing to do with white supremacists. In fact he condemned racism dozens of times but you never saw it on mainstream news because of their agenda. If you slander someone as 'racist' many times people will start to believe the lie. Your comment is an evidence of how effective that is. It's an excellent political strategy that worked out great for the Democratic party. - edgyquant 6y agoHe condemned white supremacy only after receiving more backlash than he expected. Don’t be a revisionist we were all there it was just three years ago. The old adage is than when white supremacists believe you’re one of them you might as well be.

- shripadk 6y ago> He condemned white supremacy only after receiving more backlash than he expected He condemned white supremacy 38 times. Not once. Not twice. 38 times. There are clips of him condemning white supremacy as way back as 2000s when he wanted to run for President through a Reform Party ticket but instead decided to abort it last minute when he came to know that David Duke joined the party. Please tell me why Trump needs to condemn white supremacy 38 times and still be called a racist while Biden gets a free pass? Let us be frank here: you have an opinion of Trump based on what media has portrayed him to be rather than actually having done your own research. Or maybe you just hate the guy which is perfectly fine. But you can't say that he only condemned when he received backlash. He literally quit a Presidential race when he came to know that David Duke joined the Reform Party for Heaven's sake! What more condemnation do you need? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd0cMmBvqWc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd0cMmBvqWc > The old adage is than when white supremacists believe you’re one of them you might as well be. Biden sang eulogies for an actual KKK recruiter who was incidentally also a Democrat Senator and not one media house took Biden to task the way they did Trump. Heck, even the current Vice President Kamala Harris called Biden a racist on the Presidential Primary Stage! Then she happily went along with him as the VP candidate! But yes, orange man bad!
- edgyquant 6y agoI didn’t say anything about Biden dude. I’m perfectly capable of thinking they’re both problematic. As I said the fact that actual white supremacists, not from the media via their own boards, believe Trump is there guy tells you all you need to know.
- dumpsterdiver 6y ago> As I said the fact that actual white supremacists, not from the media via their own boards, believe Trump is there guy tells you all you need to know. I disagree with this rationale. If the white supremacists also all listen to Nickelback, would that tell you everything you need to know about Nickelback? Maybe it would, but as a discerning person I would want to know more than just "We like Nickelback and we hate <random_genealogy> people" before I assumed that Nickelback was mascotting for that group.
- sixothree 6y agoNo. Read this again. He literally posted a video of people yelling "white power".
- sieabahlpark 6y agoThe one with the old guy in the golf cart yelling "white power" ironically against the people shouting at them calling them racist. Who unironically states "OH YEAH, YOU GOT IT! YEAH! White Power!" The dudes tone of voice is completely sarcastic and not authoritative. It's truly a reach to think someone who is being agitated saying something to provoke someone else is truly a statement that they are a white supremacist. I've actually seen the whole video and to not be able to tell when someone is doing something to directly provoke someone who hates them is silly. Do trolls and provacators cease to exist outside of the internet? 4chan "culture" (if you can call it that) can and do exist outside of the internet bubble, they unapologetically say things with the purpose of pissing someone off. I'm sad we have a whole generation of people incapable of understanding context and that people purposely say provacative things in order to belittle the power of the statements themselves. It's pathetic honestly that people can't see that.
- Proziam 6y agoJust to add, here's the full clip - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmaZR8E12bs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmaZR8E12bs I think everyone should watch this for themselves and decide whether the media's portrayal of what Trump said is reasonable and fair.
- sixothree 6y agoThis is the video he posted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wibk3QsT7-M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wibk3QsT7-M
- Zuider 6y agoThis is not the Charlottesville event. This occurred several months afterwards. Nor were those white supremacists. In fact, they were old age pensioners taking part in a Trump rally at a retirement complex in Florida. Anti-Trump protestors arrived at the scene and began shouting angrily and abusively, using the terms 'racist' and 'Nazi.' At one point in the clip, a single individual sitting in a golf cart sarcastically retorted to that abuse in clear mockery of the barrage of over-the-top insults. The BBC News article, while clearly biased against Trump, provides enough context to read between the lines. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53212685 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53212685
- sixothree 6y agoLook at the comments you are responding to. He twisted the argument far away from my one-line statement. You succumbed to a classic tactic of racists.

- confidantlake 6y agoThe Confederacy fought to keep people as slaves. You can't claim it has nothing to do with white supremacy.
- sixothree 6y agoAnd you're responding to his shifting argument.
- rhcom2 6y agoHe definitely did... https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-promotes-video-appearing-show-supporter-shouting-white-power-n1232356 https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-promotes...
- sixothree 6y agoYou are making assumptions about what I am arguing. You're shifting the debate in a completely repulsive manner. Here is the video you asked for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wibk3QsT7-M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wibk3QsT7-M
- wang_li 6y agoIf you're talking about the geriatrics in Florida, the video withsome geezers standing around with signs and others rolling by in golf carts, your description is woefully inadequate to convey the contents of the video. While someone does literally say "white power", it seems like trolling.
- ericb 6y agoThe tweet was up for four hours! People pointed the "white power" part out right away. The president is always reachable by his people, by definition. It was more than a smoking gun. No apology or explanation from him, not even an "oops." Here's the video Trump posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wibk3QsT7-M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wibk3QsT7-M There's not much ambiguity there. Thanks to others for finding the link.
- mike00632 6y agoTrump's entry into politics was his participantion in the racist birther movement that claimed Obama was born in Africa.
- GreenHeuristics 6y agoWhy are you calling Obamas grandmother, brother and sister racist? https://www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Message.aspx/3074 https://www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Message.aspx/3074
- mike00632 6y ago"israelnationalnews.com" You couldn't even find a YouTube video to spout your racism?
- GreenHeuristics 6y agoSimply the first google result. The internet is full of them, here is another first result https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3063752/barack-obamas-brother-posts-document-he-claims-is-ex-presidents-kenyan-birth-certificate/ https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3063752/barack-obamas-brother-... So again, why are you calling Obamas family racist?
- sieabahlpark 6y agoStop with this bullshit. Evidence is evidence and people should be taught to expect evidence rather than blindly believing words. Even your statement here is an evidence of propaganda. Just because you repeat a lie does not make it true it makes it commonplace. Much like the earth is flat and the many hundreds of years of things said by the various churchs. You do nothing to improve the situation and only seek to destroy information and belittle people into treating them like mere children incapable of discerning information themselves. That's what's called propaganda and you're taking part in it. Treat people like adults who have the mental depth to actually have a conversation not open vats where you can just throw info in enough and assume anything said becomes true. You know what really works when you repeat a lie enough times to make it believable? When you delete anything that calls into question that statement. Which you happen to be for and yet you should be against it because it makes it so "authorities" are able to say things and be automatically trusted and assumed to be fact, can't argue that they're wrong now, can you? You literally cannot defeat racism, fascism, or oppression using racism, fascism, or oppression. It just flips who the fucking person or group fucking doing it.
- Lammy 6y agoAs far as I can tell "True" and "False" in any context are way more like popular consensus rather than some natural immutable objective state.
- cmdshiftf4 6y ago>Repeat a lie often enough and it become true And "often enough" here is drastically less, or fewer, than people appreciate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_men_make_a_tiger https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_men_make_a_tiger
