Show HN: Tetris in 3D
- HBcodes 6y agoThis game has been my side project for a few months, and I'm finally just about ready to call it finished. Please let me know what you think! It's built in Unity, and hosted in GCP Cloud Storage (Mainly because it's the easiest way to use Google's CDN for edge caching). The source code is at https://github.com/haydnbannister/blocking https://github.com/haydnbannister/blocking for those interested.
- flemhans 6y agoGood old-fashioned fun!
- HBcodes 6y agoThanks! The biggest delay while developing it has been me just getting carried away p̶l̶a̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ testing the game...
- Tepix 6y agoIt's a lot of fun! I was only missing a key to rotate a 2x3 piece along the "sideways" axis.
- HBcodes 6y agoCheers! You can do it by rotating it forward first, then sideways, and THEN back up, but certainly not ideal
- g66vk 6y agoThis is fun. Love it! Well done :)
- Raed667 6y agoSuper fun! congrats! One small request: can you add support for non QWERTY keyboard? having to look for the buttons is a bit distracting.
- HBcodes 6y agoGood idea. Out of interest, what layout do you have?
- Jakobeha 6y agohey this is a good game. My only suggestion would be to make it easier to see gaps in order to clear layers, maybe by making the blocks semi-transparent or making gaps in the lowest complete-able layer "glow" so that you can see them behind other blocks.
- robot128 6y agoIt reminded me the old DOS game: Blockout. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockout https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockout
