I was looking forward to publish apps on Huawei's AppGallery [1], but the requirement for identity verification [2][3] is a major turn-off, considering the increased risk of our personal data being misused by government entities. The same is true for Xiaomi's Mi Store.
From Huawei's developer site:
> HUAWEI AppGallery, HUAWEI's official app distribution platform, is the world's first app market to implement a developer identity verification system.

- oefrha 6y agoApple requires identity verification for certain individual developers too (and all organizations AFAIK): https://developer.apple.com/support/identity-verification/ https://developer.apple.com/support/identity-verification/ > Identity verification is required for: > Account Holders based in the United States or China mainland. > Account Holders of organizations based in China mainland. > Developers based in the United States or China mainland who wish to accept the transfer of the Account Holder role. Google Play seems to have this too, although their support page is unclear about who it applies to, and I have no personal experience: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/9198012 https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answ...
