Rust has a terrible, verbose syntax and solves a problem that is a non issue in many applications where C shines while making ordinary things difficult (like recursive data structures). I am sure it has its place but I think it's just too ugly to be attractive. There is something pleasing about writing C, Python or even Javascript which you will never get with Rust. It will never be a language a lot of people enjoy writing imo.
