People Are Calling Elon Musk a “Space Karen”
- BitwiseFool 6y ago"On Saturday, Musk took to Twitter to clarify the situation surrounding his health — but, like a raging Karen in a checkout line, succeeded only in muddying the waters further." Is this truly the state of journalism in 2020? I can't stand copy like this, but I guess I'm the one to blame since I clicked on it.
- AntiImperialist 6y agoIf it generates clicks and reactions, they're doing their jobs well.
- blkknightarms 6y agoSigh. True. Outrage, virality-clickbait tabloid copy rather than journalism. Money, money, money over professional integrity.
- vlod 6y agoUnfortunately yes. From the article: >"What's bogus is that Space Karen didn't read up on the test before complaining to his millions of followers." A lot of people are saying this, I would love to know how many people actually knew about how this test works before they criticized him.
- karmakaze 6y agoIt's shocking how much the tweet "Something extremely bogus is going on. Was tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD." reads like something the way Trump would have said. Anyway, I think the difference is that many/most(?) of us would inquire about the meaning of the results before making a judgement then telling millions who follow things we say.
- dzhiurgis 6y agoLet's not forget Musk was one of the first to mention HCQ as potential cure. Then he went to Rogan to spread more skepticism...

- blkknightarms 6y agoThin article without much substance. Maybe rtPCR and more ELISA tests would put it to bed. But really, who cares? Musk does whine a lot and proclaim statements insouciantly without knowledge or expertise. In other news, US cases are growing concave-up with no end in sight.
