Kissinger Warns Biden of U.S.-China Catastrophe on Scale of WWI
- raxxorrax 6y agoHow old is Kissinger by now? 100 years?
- cjbenedikt 6y agoAre you suggesting anything here? ;-) But I get it. In the US the obsession with "war" is disturbing. It would be interesting to analyze political speech in the US and how many times the word "enemy" is being used compared to "friend".
- simonblack 6y agoTwo things are pushing the US towards conflict with China: The Wolfowitz Doctrine and 'US exceptionalism'. These two things are forcing the US to prevent at all costs the overtaking of the US by China, whereby the US is relegated to the Number 2 position. China doesn't need conflict. That would be unnecessary, and get in the way by slowing China's inevitable rise. The US will have to fight sooner rather than later to win, China will prefer to fight later rather than sooner. I give it no more than a year or two. Arithmetically speaking, the US should have acted long before this. I believe it's too late for the US already. The West will lose this one.
- dragonwriter 6y ago> The Wolfowitz Doctrine and 'US exceptionalism'. Those aren't really two things; the former is one of many potential expressions of the latter in the foreign policy sphere. It's also not been consistently an animating principal of US foreign policy under the Obama or Trump Administration's, even to the extent that it arguably was in the Bush Administration.
