Racket v7.9, with parallel garbage collection
- Pet_Ant 6y agoFor those who saw this and wondered about Racket on Chez, the latest update in from February 2020: https://blog.racket-lang.org/2020/02/racket-on-chez-status.html https://blog.racket-lang.org/2020/02/racket-on-chez-status.h... Tl;dr: production ready, not the default, usually much faster
- bjoli 6y agoThe "racket CS" mentioned in the post is the chez scheme version. So next release it will be the default version unless something bad is found.
- iainctduncan 6y agoWhat Racket needs is some decent non-academic books that aren't just for beginners. It's a great language, but the options for learning it for real world use are bizarrely thin.
- bmitc 6y agoRacket Programming the Fun Way is about to be released. https://nostarch.com/racket-programming-fun-way https://nostarch.com/racket-programming-fun-way Edit: I just noticed the "not for beginners" part of your comment.
- iainctduncan 6y agoYeah, I mean, racket's killer feature is the multiple macro options, and those aren't trivial. Excited to finally see some books at all though
- samth 6y agoBeautiful Racket is good if you want to book on building languages in Racket: https://beautifulracket.com/ https://beautifulracket.com/
- rscho 6y agoAs a hobbyist, I regularly screen the issued on the github racket repo, but I couldn't yet find something I was confident I had the necessary skills.
