Yahoo launches its own smartphone for $50
- solarkraft 6y agoAbout the actual thing I don't know. Looks like ZTE licensing the name. Buy why the hell would you call it "Yahoo Mobile ZTE Blade A3Y" if it's supposed to be significant and profit from the Yahoo Brand? Why not call it The Yahoo Phone or ZTE Yahoo or something? Also, who is this even marketed to? Who doesn't see Yahoo as "everything with that name is guaranteed garbage"? People who only paid attention for the few years it was doing well and never again afterwards?
- Nextgrid 6y ago> Who doesn't see Yahoo as "everything with that name is guaranteed garbage"? Outside of tech I think there are plenty of people. Several of my friends have Yahoo as their primary e-mail. In 2020. Not just as their e-mail provider, but also use the official client app with ads masquerading as e-mails at the top of the inbox. I wouldn't be surprised of this was fairly popular with certain categories of people, especially if pushed by Verizon in their stores to people who don't know better.
