Who else believes this valid/legit email is being used to sell a boat load of other unvalidated crap? Also, not sure it's a good HN post.

  The way people have been dealing with these leaks is pretty amazing. The amount of goalpost moving is so absurd that it's just amusing at this point. It's basically like one of those doomsday cults that keeps pushing back the date of the apocalypse when the previous date comes and goes. > Also, not sure it's a good HN post. Just lol.

    I don't know of any goalpost moving. Most reasonable people from the beginning assumed, 1. There were legitimate "scandalous" materials gained via hacking. 2. The entire story of how it was acquired was either fabricated or setup. 3. The materials that attempt to tie the scandal to Joe Biden are the ones that need authentication to be interesting. 4. Without authentication it could be an attempt to use the personally scandalous materials of Hunter Biden to create an air of authenticity for the other items.

  From what I can see some of the material is legit and mildly scandalous, but it’s being used as a horse upon which a huge body of arbitrary accusations and insinuations can ride in. Same with the real possibility of porn (gasp!) on the laptop being used to insinuate child porn to trigger the Q cult. Using a mild to moderate scandal to insinuate major scandal is pretty standard political smear technique. Trump is immune to this because he just admits to everything or does all his shady stuff in the open and his supporters don’t care. Pretty hard to scandalize him.

    This isn't a mild scandal even when you exclude the sex/drugs component of it. There are documents and audio recording detailing relationships between the Biden family and members of the Chinese intelligence services, among other things. There are text messages and emails which show that Hunter was regularly consulting with his father Joe Biden on these deals.       Well if this is true it means we have a Chinese asset sex predator vs a Russian asset sex predator. That’s a tough one. It would maintain the accuracy rating of The Onion with their “Democrats concerned that Biden has not assaulted enough women to beat Trump” story. They are both awful candidates. I voted for Biden and still would because at least he doesn’t associate with and dog whistle to Nazis. That is so pathetic. Never thought I would miss Bush. This country is going down if we can’t increase the quality of our talent pool for this job.

        I find comments like this extremely interesting. What you've written is deranged and comes across like a programmed response similar (I would say functionally identical) to that of a devoted cult member. You've just rattled off what come across as very hackneyed almost childlike talking points. However, based on your profile you're obviously an extremely intelligent and productive person. It really shows the importance of having a well ordered society with a ruling class that has the general welfare of the citizenry in mind. The world is too complicated and complex a place for every person, even the most intelligent and productive among us, to have to concern themselves with these sorts of things. We have a right to live in a society where we can trust our institutions. Unfortunately we are living in a time where our institutions are completely and utterly corrupt at almost evert level.

  Is it settled though? All we know is that one email is real. What do the other emails contain? Are those emails real? Lots of unverified claims made from one camp, and lots of dodging those claims from the other.

    > unverified This term doesn't mean anything. It's just a meme. How does one actually "verify" anything? When people use this term they mean "someone I trust (e.g. mainstream media) concurs with this statement". Even if this email has a legitimate DKIM signature it doesn't mean that someone didn't hack these accounts and send these emails or that v.pozharskyi.ukraine@gmail.com actually belongs to the person it is purported to belong to. It could be that some nation state forged the DKIM signature or that they have operatives within Google that did this on their behalf. We could go on.

  Validating DKIM doesn't tell you much. It doesn't tell you who was sitting behind the machine when the Send button was clicked.

I love the FAQ at the end. Thank you! The entire contents of the so-called laptop should be scrutinized in this way. And honestly, the Biden campaign should have something to say in response, beyond just "there are no records of a meeting taking place."

Would be good if they were able to provide DKIM verification for all the emails they have been shopping around. Compared to how wikileaks handled the DNC emails NYPost and friends seem to have performed quite poorly. It wouldn't surprise me that they were getting the DKIM error and thought the emails might be fraudulent so didn't try and get an outside person to validate them.

I'm glad somebody is validating the mail. So it seems nothing has been proved false? The investigation should continue. (Disclaimer: I think Hunter Biden's high-dollar job does look suspicious. More investigation is warranted.)

Would be good if they were able to provide DKIM verification for all the emails they have been shopping around. It wouldn't surprise me that they were getting the DKIM error and thought the emails might be fraudulent so didn't try and get an outside person to validate them.
