I think that this article is nothing more than an attempt to manipulate the stock prices in question.
- nradov 6y agoConsumer Reports and Reuters don't attempt to manipulate stock prices. You might disagree with their conclusions but you're obviously wrong about their motivations.
- maxharris 6y agoYou might very well be right, in that those specific organizations likely have no hand in or knowledge of manipulating stock prices. (I wish I could go back to the original comment and tweak the wording to reflect this.) But what do you think about others spreading the articles selectively to get more reach and thus influence what common shareholders do? That's a pretty easy way to achieve the exact same effect, and a lot harder to trace. You can learn a lot by observing the gaps...
- millstone 6y agoCR has had some badly designed tests in the past, but the way they run their org is outstanding. They're a nonprofit, they purchase all products retail, they accept no advertising dollars, they forbid using their testing results in advertising. It seems natural and very above board for Cruise to want to spread this good review, though they cannot use it in advertising.
