Breakthrough: Water Found on Sunlit Surface of Moon, NASA Confirms
- raxxorrax 6y ago> amounts to about a 12-ounce bottle trapped in a cubic meter volume of soil. “While that amount is 100 times less than what’s found in the Sahara Desert [...]" Didn't know that there was so much water in the Sahara. Still confused about the sunlit part. That changes with the moons rotation around the earth, so is it only prevalent when sunlight is shining? Awesome find otherwise. Would indeed be interesting how the moon can keep it. Maybe our moon is a giant sponge.
- ksaj 6y agoI thought the point was that the only water they discovered or suspected so far was in continuously frozen form. This however, is in liquid form for about half of each month. In theory, that means there is a potential for an intermittent well, which is an improvement over no water at all.
