Come to the South: affirmative action isn’t a thing here. It’s a breath of fresh air. You’ll find that there are other freedoms that have been taken away from you in the north. All of them are alive and well here.
- doggosphere 6y agoAh yes the South, where affirmative action isn't a thing, but racial divide is.
- threatofrain 6y agoAnd where is the south on the conversation for race, especially Asians and other minorities?
- SpicyLemonZest 6y agoAbout on par with the Midwest and Northeast by every metric I'm familiar with. The stereotype of the South as an atypically racist place is outdated.
- threatofrain 6y agoDo those metrics include Asians? What's the story of Asians in the south?
- SpicyLemonZest 6y agoIt's a lot harder to measure how welcomed specific groups are than to measure diversity in general, but it's my (anecdotal, limited) understanding that they're reasonably welcomed. It's worth noting that South Carolina and Louisiana are the only states outside the West Coast to have elected Asian governors.
