- throwawaygh 6y agoNot only anti-competitive, but also far more privacy invading.
- octoberfranklin 6y agoNever gonna happen, NSA needs fewer bigger ISPs. That's why they threw Qwest's CEO in prison and loaned CenturyLink the money to buy Qwest. Go ahead, check CL's SEC filings. They've had those mysterious NON-REGISTERED, NON-TRADEABLE Qwest acquisition bonds on their books for a decade now, all held by a single, non-disclosed entity. Gee I wonder who. Then they pulled the same stunt in order to buy Level3. https://ir.centurylink.com/news/news-details/2020/CenturyLink-Announces-Proposed-Private-Offering-of-Level-3-Financing-Senior-Notes/default.aspx https://ir.centurylink.com/news/news-details/2020/CenturyLin...
- pottertheotter 6y agoWould breaking them up do that much? They already barely compete with each other. Seems like making them provide open access to any other ISP would be a better way to go about it. Separate the infrastructure from the service. It's just too bad we don't have more municipally owned infrastructure.
- SkyMarshal 6y ago>It's just too bad we don't have more municipally owned infrastructure. Yeah that's what I really want, municipal fiber. The big ISPs are constantly suing municipalities that try to build that though.
