Show HN: I made a dead-simple knowledge management webapp
- huhtenberg 6y agoSince this appears to be a hosted service (and leaving aside the feasibility of this aspect), it absolutely needs a fairly detailed About page. Who's behind the service, where it is hosted, what the privacy policy is like, etc.
- yanis_t 6y agoI never though about it that way really. Would it be better f ti was a desktop app instead with all the data stored as markdown files on your disk?
- huhtenberg 6y agoIn my opinion, yes, this would certainly be better. It will also remove the risk associated with you deciding to shut down the service for whatever reason. You can still have a service component to this (and charge monthly for it) - to allow sharing the data between multiple devices, presumably passing it through your server in an encrypted form. You can also generate recurrent revenue from a desktop app itself by providing only X months of free updates to newer versions. Ask for a small fee after that for another year of updates.
