I'm actually amazed (maybe I shouldn't) that face retouch became so universal in most (all?) contemporary smartphones with seemingly no ethical considerations.

How could the likes as samsung switch this feature on by default like it was some minor optimization?
How many customers did you gain because you didn't require them to turn a switch on? Was it worth it?
- Aeolun 6y agoWhy are you amazed? If all professional photos are retouched, then this is the standard that people will hold themselves to, and their pictures seem nasty by comparison. When you turn on automatic retouching, everyone suddenly feels like they take professional/promotional quality pictures.
