Flask Is a Cancer
- dekhn 6y agoAgree 100%. When I first started using Flask (and variants) I was very excited, but after running into global context and "use decorators to modify function behavior is spooky ways", I stopped using it. But then, I also found Twisted to be a cancer (stdioonnastick, anybody?)
- nomdep 6y agoI would only (jokingly) compare Flask to a cancer in the way its routes API spreads to almost all the new frameworks after it. I also hate the global context. Except for `g`, I feel it adds so much unnecessary complexity in exchange of the theoretical case of having more than one app in the same interpreter. However, I don't find the "ugly" code from the article, ugly at all. Not uglier than the equivalent in Django or other frameworks.
