Only if pre-existing immunity and sailors/passengers are evenly distributed.
- mike00632 6y agoCOVID tests/PCR tests only test whether a person is actively infected. They look for viral RNA present in your system. Therefor, if you recover (10-14 days after infection, ~7 days after symptoms) then you will not test positive for COVID. https://www.medicaldevice-network.com/features/types-of-covid-19-test-antibody-pcr-antigen/ https://www.medicaldevice-network.com/features/types-of-covi...
- nradov 6y agoThat is not correct. The PCR tests are highly sensitive and continue to show positive results from remaining dead virus particles for some patients weeks after the infection has been cleared. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7237903/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7237903/
- mike00632 6y agoThe point is the OP's math assumed that everyone (ALL) who recovered from COVID-19 would test positive. What you're saying is that SOME people who have recovered could test positive.
