That's because I already have bookmarks in my browser, marking articles as favorite on HN would give me no value.
- amelius 6y agoI download the articles, so I can even read them in the event they are taken offline.
- zimpenfish 6y agoI use Pocket which then gets IFTTT'd to Pinboard which archives them for me.
- ekianjo 6y agoHN Comments is where the money is, not the stories themselves.
- bad_user 6y agoComments have links that can be bookmarked too, under that timestamp, here's yours: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24352253 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24352253
- grugagag 6y agoI didn't know that comments can be bookmarked, that's a very unusual and neat feature
- remram 6y agoUnusual? Reddit and Twitter have it, GitHub/GitLab have anchors too, which platform lacks comment links?
- ekianjo 6y agoI usually favorite a whole story so that I have access to all comments, not just one.
- ansible 6y agoI switch computers frequently (desktop, chromebook, laptop, phone, etc.) so having some kind of centralized 'favorites' is nice. I've not used the bookmark sync with Firefox or such. I've noticed that I rarely go back and look at my favorites though.
