Companies going public in droves. Surges in housing construction. What kind of economy is this? The Fed may find itself needing to raise interest rates before the end of the year.
- dicomdan 6y agoUS is reaching herd immunity so the markets are reacting. Plus, trillions in stimulus spending.
- totetsu 6y agoDid you see the man in HK who got infected again with a different strain? Herd immunity will not come
- nostrebored 6y agoWho was asymptomatic and previously did not have igg antibodies but had an _expected_ immune response? This is how the immune system works! Stop sensationalizing this story.
- nickthemagicman 6y agoThank you for this. People just look for reasons to be afraid.
- eikenberry 6y agoPosting some news worthy claim on the internet without a link to an article or a story... why even bother.

- nickthemagicman 6y agoNorway and Sweden have already reached Herd Immunity with no mask mandate. America has had declining cases for weeks straight. Whatever sensational news story you read about herd immunity is there to scare you and you should be careful of your information diet.
- enragedcacti 6y agodo you have a source for Norway and Sweden's herd immunity? From one day ago: > Critics say even Tegnell’s most optimistic forecasts for Sweden are still a long way from the critical 60% to 70% goal required for herd immunity to have a chance at working, and save the lives of the elderly and those with underlying conditions — those most vulnerable members of the population. - throw51319 6y agoYeah but I wonder if you truly need 60-70% for herd immunity in such a spread out place like Sweden. Even stockholm is very wide, completely different than a place like NYC.
- nickthemagicman 6y agoStockholm population density is greater than San Diego and Phoenix Denver and San Antonio. They're still Europeans bro. They packed them in tight there. Are you just making stuff up to try to discredit things that disagree with your view? You were right about one thing. Due to cross-reactivity with other common cold coronaviruses giving previous immunity, they're speculating you only need between 10 to 30% of the population infected with covid to develop herd immunity.
- throw51319 6y agoWhere did you read that about 10-30%? Honestly it kind of makes sense. And bro i was talking about NYC, of course it is more dense than Stockholm
- xsmasher 6y agoWith six million cases and a population of 39 million, it look like we're far from herd immunity. What makes you say that?
- starfallg 6y agoQE results in strange market dynamics. As the safe assets are bought up by the central banks with newly created money, there is an excess of cash in the system, which needs somewhere to go.
- claydavisss 6y agoThe Fed has already committed to a multi-year regime of very low rates, and on Thursday at Jackson Hole, Powell is expected to signal a major change in Fed policy - they will accept inflation for the foreseeable future as a necessary consequence of keeping rates low. The reasoning is simple - there is so much personal and corporate debt now that the Fed simply cannot increase rates. The economy would implode. So, as a result, you will spend more on milk and Mr. Powell is okay with that.
