I would rather use Edge
- winrid 6y agoIt does look promising. The surprising thing about Edge is it actually starts and is interactable faster (~1s) than Win10's Photo Viewer (3-5s)... on an SSD.
- zerocrates 6y agoThis reminds me of a semi recent story about Firefox removing an old feature because it affected startup speed. My basic thought was: I essentially always have my browser open. What do I care about a few hundred milliseconds, or even a few seconds, on something I do so rarely?
- Jerry2 6y ago>I would rather use Edge You should rethink that. >"We find that the browsers split into three distinct groups from this privacy perspective. In the first (most private) group lies Brave, in the second Chrome, Firefox and Safari, and in the third (least private) group lie Edge and Yandex." https://www.zdnet.com/article/a-professor-says-edge-is-the-worst-for-privacy-microsoft-isnt-happy/ https://www.zdnet.com/article/a-professor-says-edge-is-the-w...

- puzzlingcaptcha 6y agoEdge is now based on Chromium [1]. Welcome to the future, where you can choose from Chrome (Chromium), Edge (Chromium) and Opera (also Chromium). https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2018/12/06/microsoft-edge-making-the-web-better-through-more-open-source-collaboration/#GmSJg4uFjBM5y8Hz.97 https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2018/12/06/micro...
- akerro 6y agodo all of them use google extension store to install adblockers like Brave (also Chromium)?
- puzzlingcaptcha 6y agoThey have their own stores apparently (at least the user-facing front). https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/Microsoft-Edge-Extensions-Home https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/Microsoft-Edge-Ex... https://addons.opera.com/en/ https://addons.opera.com/en/
- BrendanEich 6y agoBrave's shields are built-in, no extension from the Chrome Web Store is involved.
