I think Uber already chooses when they work and for how long. Uber will have to cap the hours at 8 hrs a day to save on overtime. But the "new employees" can work multiple jobs if they want.
Are there employment laws I'm not aware of that require "interviews"? Most fast food works can become employees by just walking in the door, I think.
- nostrebored 6y agoThis is just untrue. Drivers are free to choose when they want to drive.
- jojobas 6y agoSure, but Uber varies rates so they want to drive when Uber needs them.
- nemothekid 6y agoHow is that any different from any other contracting job. If I'm a designer a client may pay me more to finish a job now rather than in 10 days.
