Just realised we have Apple computers, Apricot computers, Blackberry phones, Raspberry (Pi) computers – is there some kind of fruit obsession in IT I've missed out on?
- pmyteh 6y agoTangerine computers too, back in the day, Acorn (technically a fruit)...
- ngcc_hk 6y agoApple from Beatles and for years Apple cannot release any music from Beatles to avoid confusion of the brand name (of Beatles).
- pbhjpbhj 6y agoThere was Apricot too, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apricot_Computers https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apricot_Computers. And Cherry made peripherals/components, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherry_(keyboards) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherry_(keyboards). I guess such names make for simple logos.
- igravious 6y agoI mentioned Apricot :) Cherry, yes – good catch!
