When in doubt, blame the Russians and Chinese
"We do know that it looks like it's a propaganda machine, and it definitely matches the Russian and Chinese playbooks, but it would take a tremendous amount of resources to substantiate that," said Kathleen Carley, a professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon University who is conducting a study into bot-generated coronavirus activity on Twitter that has yet to be published.

- edyyhotteb 6y agoNo but i fully understand what confirmation bias is
- buboard 6y agoit would be ironic if he/she is a bot. you think so? more likely, they wanted to avoid looking like straying from the usual groupthink
- sjg007 6y agoThere is definitely a Russian disinformation campaign as well as a GOP disinformation campaign. With respect to Covid-19 these are designed to get Trump re-elected. I think the Russians also just want to sow discord as well per usual. The pitch will be that it was the democratic governors who shut down the economy and not him.
