You got a source to back up where exactly he "advised" to drink bleach?
- VyperCard 6y agoDo you mean that sarcastically or?
- dave5104 6y ago> The frantic reaction was prompted by President Trump’s suggestion on Thursday at a White House briefing that an “injection inside” the human body with a disinfectant like bleach or isopropyl alcohol could help combat the virus. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/24/us/politics/trump-inject-disinfectant-bleach-coronavirus.html https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/24/us/politics/trump-inject-...

- refurb 6y agoThe exact quote, from your link. “One minute,” the president said. “And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that.” Saying that Trump suggested people "should drink bleach" is not an accurate summary of that statement at all. It would be more fair to characterize that as "Trump asks if disinfectants could be used to treat Coronavirus".
- dave5104 6y agoMaybe "drink bleach" isn't an exact summary, but the President's words were taken to heart by enough people to see a spike in poison control calls asking about it: https://www.foxnews.com/us/states-spike-poison-control-calls https://www.foxnews.com/us/states-spike-poison-control-calls Regardless of drinking or injecting, it's absolutely preposterous that the President of the United States would even suggest such a thing without getting any sort of input from medical professionals. The President's words have power, and that power needs to be yielded responsibly.
- dekhn 6y agoWe all know exactly the quote that Trump said and you're just attempting to lawyer his quote to make it look like he wasn't saying something completely absurd off the top of his head.
