I guess this whole limited liability ordeal is making me wonder: why doesn't the FDA mandate that all meat packing happens in a clean-room environment? I'm not sure if I'm serious about imposing that requirement, but it does beg the question of what type of health and safety measures are in place in meat packing plants for the consumer buying the meat _and_ the workers doing the packing.
