That was almost exactly what the Cash for Clunkers program was doing. Under the Gov. contact, the dealer had to pour an engine seizing compound through the caurborator to get the discount reimbursement. Kept functional vehicles from ending up in the hands of the poor.
- CPLX 7y agoYes but that was the stated goal of the policy. If this speaker program was designed to remove unsafe or environmentally unsound speakers from circulation we’d be having a different conversation.
- fierarul 7y ago+1 Clunkers are generally functional machines. At least here they don't accept the clunker if you can't drive it in there.
- Angostura 7y agoThat's because it was designed specifically to remove more environmentally damaging vehicles from being used. It's purpose was to give people incentives to get them destroyed. There is no similar environmental incentive here.
