This seems to have been out since 2016 (https://medium.com/samsung-internet-dev/how-to-take-payments-on-the-web-with-the-payment-request-api-a523f6fc7c1f https://medium.com/samsung-internet-dev/how-to-take-payments...). Yet, I haven't seen even one website use it in production. Was this a failure or am I missing something? p.s. I hope it catches on.

Have you ever seen Apple Pay in the web? If so there is a good chance you’ve seen this as it’s Apple’s recommended way of doing things instead of their older custom JS.
