Is this a move to kill any Hackintosh attempt?
- Hamuko 7y agoThere's probably easier ways of going about it. I doubt Apple really cares that much about Hackintosh users. Many of them probably have legit Apple hardware as well. I personally own a Hackintosh, a MacBook, an iPhone and an Apple Watch, and also have a MacBook at work.
- djmobley 7y agoI see it as part of a general trend whereby Apple are locking down macOS and making it more akin to iOS. Think System Integrity Protection (SIP), the read-only system volume introduced in Catalina, etc. All good for security and your typical macOS user. That these changes are also frustrating for hackers is just a side-effect they are willing to accept.
