- travbrack 7y agoThat is not a fun fact :(
- aty268 7y agoYou are correct. I have changed fun to unfun.
- otachack 7y agoI get it. Don't feel guilty! Sucks that he died so young :(
- aty268 7y agoI agree, but he was kind of an asshole. Apparently he was pretty sexually abusive to the women who worked for him at Twitter and got fired for it.
- ta999999171 7y agoThis is a real rollercoaster you're taking us on, here.
- aty268 7y agoI'm making a tribute to the fact that he was an emotional rollercoaster of a human being.
- sillysaurusx 7y agoIt's just... Calling someone an asshole after they're dead feels... I don't know. Maybe you're not wrong.
- xwowsersx 7y agoI hope you didn't mean it that way, but referring to this as a "fun fact" is exceedingly loathsome.
- ehsankia 7y agoThe very first time you open the app, it does say "in loving memory of X", though I can't remember now if that name was Colin Kroll or someone else.
- timdorr 7y agoIt was Jacob Marttinen. He was an engineer on Byte.
- frosted-flakes 7y agoThat's still there? I figured they'd just keep it in for the beta. I knew Jacob well, and his death last June had a huge effect on Byte. The whole company shut down for several weeks and probably significantly delayed the launch of the app (there were only 6 employees, and I think he did all the hiring, too).
