- drngdds 7y agoThere's also "askeynemma", which sounds a little like a disease
- OskarS 7y agoIt's "ask-inema" in my head.
- makotoNagano 7y agothat works
- magic_beans 7y agoThat's the obvious answer. This is a name that looks great when reading, but sounds awful when spoken.
- dorfsmay 7y agoI have been pronouncing it Askinnema in my head, because that's how people pronounce ASCII, and I then just added the suffix in what is the most natural way to say it for me - I'm ESL though.
- TallGuyShort 7y agoStill not as bad as the BlackBerry company (Research In Motion, or RIM) careers website, "RIM.jobs"
- cogburnd02 7y agoOr the old 'expertsexchange.'
- tombert 7y agoor penisland.net. I'm afraid to look it up at work but as of a few years ago, it's still active.
- TallGuyShort 7y agoIt's still there. The "Pen Island" pen company. God damn.
- ihaveajob 7y agoI love how the banner tries to undo the confusion: PENislandPENS.
- dmd 7y agoTheir logos are pretty great too.
- paulmd 7y agoWould you really want your sex change done by someone who's not an expert?
- wrboyce 7y agoIt certainly beats a kidsexchange (which was some kind of daycare website back in the day, if memory serves).
- EncryptEntropy 7y agoThank you. I was apparently flagged just for pointing out the same and my comment has vanished. It was relevant. QQ
- telotortium 7y ago/æˈskinəmə/ for me
- deleted 7y ago[deleted]
- michaelcampbell 7y agoOr, "ascii nema", just like it's spelled. But yeah, I can't get past the name; for this very reason.
- herohamp 7y agoI've just been mentally saying "ASCII Cinema" I know it is objectively wrong but it's what the name is saying
